Family in December

It was a treat to spend insane amounts of time with my family this holiday season. I was able to see my Dad's brother & his family as well. They were in town to visit my dad's parents who are weren't doing well in rehab. They thought it may be the last time to see them so they came to visit. The grandparents are doing better but their recovery is very slow and if they don't fully recover we may have to seek out a full care nursing home to place them in so keep them in your prayers.

I was able to catch up with my cousin Blake. We use to tell each other stories and stick needles through grass hopper heads. We were able to catch up one night at Denny's and able to hang with my guy friends at a wings place another night. It is wild how he hasn't changed much over the years but has grown into a respectful man.

I was at my sister's place quite a few times and spent a few nights hanging out with my brother in law. It will probably be the last time Matt and I hang out at night as he is leaving his patrol beat to work in a school. He will work the 9 - 5 and be able to spend more time with his family!

Denise, Noah, & I celebrated Christmas with my mother. She was super excited to see Noah and gave him half a dozen gifts...ah to be young and make out like a bandit at Christmas time! Noah had more fun tearing the wrapping paper off his gifts then playing with his gifts.

At one point my sister made the comment she was thinking about having another one!! WOW!

I don't talk too much about my family and usually don't spend as much time with them over the Holidays as I did this year. This year was nice & the time spent with the family was great!

Happy Holidays

Christmas came fast this year. I was busy with work that didn't get to spend much time shopping but everyone seemed happy with the gifts I gave. My bro-in-law's nephew was pleased with the wallet I gave him, My bro-in-law's mother was happy with the socks I gave her and my mom loved whatever I gave her. She always loves what I give her so I don't even look at what I buy my mom anymore and she loves it...I must be doing something right.

Each year I make out a list of things I want and it gets smaller and smaller as I realize all I really want is to spend time with my family, friends, and loved ones. I was able to do that and then some this holiday season. I hope everyone else out there is able to do the same!

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays Everyone!!

Why I don't blog much

Because I can't access bloggers website from my PC at home. So I only think to blog when I am at work or a friend's place and usually I'm swamped at work and surfing youtube for crazy videos when I'm with friends so I don't post much. The world of eletronic literature & blogs have missed so much...NOT.

Stuff and stuff

I need a new cell phone. My battery is so lame and old it only works for five minutes before dying. So don't call me...write me a letter it's mean more!!!

House sat off and on the last couple months. I rented a ton of movies and don't have time to give all my thoughts but I recommend: Black Snake Moan, Mr. Brooks, and any Scrubs episode!

Lately I have been HAPPY because I met a nice girl. Then I was more HAPPY as I began talking with the nice girl. Then I was WOOZY as I developed a crush on nice girl. It ends with me being SAD as I discover nice girl has boyfriend.

Been attending events at a new church. I enjoy their services & am meeting people there. It is a decent place, Eastern Hills Community Church. Check them out online - www.ehills.org

Grace

Have you ever used or heard a word so many times it loses its meaning? They usually aren't complicated words with fifty sylabols they are simple words. Air, skunk, sky, is, float, hope and variety of others come to mind for me. What is mind blowing is when you lose the meaning and see whatever meaning you had challenged in some event that unfolds before your eyes.

The other day I was in a thrift store making a purchase. While walking to the counter a couple let me go in line ahead of them. I could tell they were confused about which line to get in and didn't have much money. They also didn't speak english and seemed to be having a tough time rounding their kids to the register.

As the cashier was checking out my purchases they knocked a vase off the counter and it shattered on the floor next to me. It was so loud the noise of it shattering could be heard through out the entire store! Instantly a variety of thoughts went through my mind like: You break what you buy, time to pay for it, and that will teach him to let his kids get out of control in a store! The man seemed to be wondering similar things as his brow furrowed and he looked at the cashier.

The cashier had a different perspective. In a still soft voice he said "It's okay man, mistakes happen. Don't worry about it we will clean it up.". His response almost startled me. It took time to let sink in what I just heard. I know I have said those same words myself when I was cleaning up for others or have heard others say those same words to me when I broke various items. They are unsettling and go against our natural idea that someone has to pay, someone has to account and make right what was wrong.

Those words that cashier uttered will ring through my head for a while when I am trying to define the word - Grace.
