June Weddings
I was in a little mountain town in California called Sonora for a wedding. Yes it is wine country so being a wine guy it was painful not able to fit in a wine tasting – sin of sins! But I survive…
A friend of Mine Chris Cloos wed Christy Hoyt! I was an usher who didn’t usher but did bartend (So why couldn’t they call me bartender??). It was an lovely outdoor wedding with all sorts of interesting people. The thing that struck me about this wedding is the amount of love. You could literally feel the love people had for you and emanating from people. It was amazing!!!
I was chatting with the DJ (who was phenomenal!!! I usually don’t do shameless plugs but Marquis was so awesome I would seriously consider flying him out to Colorado to do my wedding. The man is that good! Check him out www.marquisent.net ) who said he loves what he does because he loves people. All he needs to do his job well is for people to let him love them. Theologically profound and from someone most people wouldn’t listen to for spiritual advice. The funny part was at one point they had a Soul Train going and the pastor topped every other dancer by doing the worm up and down the dance floor!!!
I guess everything is switched around in California.
I have another shout out for my friend Krista who was wed earlier this month in Georgia. She has an incredible way with words and is full of insightful stories and life stories, check out her page at flyingrightsideup.blogspot.com.
I have officially done it all at wedding! I have been a groomsmen, a best man, a maid of honor, stood up on the bride’s side, been an usher, and a bartender. I know what you all are thinking…the only left for me to do at a wedding, is be the priest.
No? You weren’t thinking that?!?! Where you all thinking I should get married??? Well I have never caught a garter so I blog and work.
