House & dog sitting again

So I am house & dog sitting again. I have a co-worker also does this and she has business cards made up & release forms & information forms. I wouldn’t mind going that far but I would be copying her and besides it is nice to watch pets for people I know. It doesn’t feel like a business arrangement, as I help people enjoy time away from home. While that feeds my altruistic side it doesn’t help me make money off these gigs…so I need to rethink the business side but anyway, I digress.

Dog sitting for two dogs & two cats who get along well for dogs & cats but I am reminded of why I don’t have pets. Feeding them, walking them (although that is fun), picking up after them (not fun), awakened by animals in my sleep, animals making noises & pawing at doors in the middle of the night, and two dogs pulling me in different directions while I walk them. It sounds like low grade fun from a Woody Allen movie only this isn’t all fun for me. The sobering part is if this is suffering I live it easy. In the middle of a recession which may get worse I do have extra money coming in so I can’t complain too much.

Where the heck have I been & what have I been doing

I turned in my letter of resignation to Papa John's early November and my last day was November 15. I spent the next month readjusting to not working two jobs. Yes I did just write readjusting!! When I stopped working at Papa John's I felt guilty like I wasn't being productive enough...weird huh? I have been talking with other people who work two jobs and quit one and they all confirmed going through the same emotional experience. It takes some time but it fades.

I have a couple projects I'm working on and starting reading, swimming, and biking again. My ankles have strengthened enough I can be more active then a couch potato dreams to be and physical activity is something I have missed lately.

So aside from visiting my nephew & neice, catching up with a couple friends, and a couple blind dates...nothing new is going on. Not sure if I like it but it is comfy...who really likes change anyway?
