Christmas on a beach

This year Christmas & New Years will be spent in Brazil. A close childhood friend of mine is half Brazilian and we will be flying down to Brazil with his family. We will be staying in Reciefe which is a costal city of the northern coast. It is very warm as it is their summer so I will be in shorts & on a beach this Christmas. I promise to post phots once I have some.

More observations about Lakewood

So I moved out to lakewood three months ago and am enjoying living here. It is awkward at times because it is new and many of the places I visit I haven't been there many times before. I have noticed when visiting a new place it takes a while for it too feel comfortable & familiar. It most likely takes a while because one has not visited the new shop, store, or restuarant enough times to feel bonded to it. I notice when I drive through Aurora it still feels familiar even though I haven't been there in three months. I have years of history there so it feels different then Lakewood as I'm still attempting to make connections & lay down roots or develop some sort of experience to make it feel like it's my home.

I have noticed many drivers out here tail gate all the time. It seems like every driver that is behind you and going to pass waits until they are three feet from your bumper before passing. Many drivers speed on roads that are further from town and in the more rural areas. I don't recall much tail gating & speeding in aurora. Most drivers seemed mellow or to mind safety a bit more.

I do love going into any store or shop out here. Most everyone working in a customer service positions are insanely friendly & cool. I can not believe how nice people treat each other. It is as though there was a time warp from the 50's and I'm experiencing leave it to beaver type people only in modern dress & style. Weirdly cool!!!

There are tons of hot clerks in my neighbor hood! I am a single so I notice and WOW!! Most any other place I have lived or visited I rarely saw super attractive clerks but it seems like every hot clerks on the planet happens to live in lakewood!!! I often am so taken back when I notice a clerk out here I forget what I'm shopping for an end up wandering around the store aimlessly trying to figure out how to approach the hot clerk & finish my shopping.

Saddness

The worst way to realize you have no life is when you find yourself at Target at 11 p.m. on a Friday night. You are staring at lamps & wondering which one matches your bedroom & is in your price range.

How to stay awake at work

Some days I have trouble staying awake at work in the early afternoon. I have tried ice water, sugar, getting up & walking around to get the blood flowing & shake off the sleepy urge. Those approaches keep me alert for a temporary basis as after 15 - 20 minutes I'm tired again. Some days you need something that will realy grab you and wake you up.

One day I took a minature bottle of Tabasco sauce into work as a gag. I started using it with my lunch after a few days and a week later I just started trying some when I feel tired. There is nothing in the world like raw Tabasco saunce to wake you up. The lesson learned is anything that hurts will keep you awake. Nothing hurts like a shot of Tabasco saunce on your tongue!

Long Over Do Movie Reviews

Hello internet, bloggers, and friends

I have been watching many movies lately and not sharing my thoughts on them. Which is a shame as there are some good films out there worth seeing (like Law Abiding Citizen) and some not so good films you can skip (like Couples Retreat & Men who Stare at Goats).

Ninja Assasin
It is crazy bloody & gory. When I read the reviews it said there was some gore and it is mostly in the first 15 minutes but the fight scenes through the entire movie are bloody!! The story is basic & let's be honest the acting was not great (It's a Ninja Movie no one wins Oscars for a Ninja movie!). The fight sequences were well done & what carried the movie. I heard the director was banned in Europe & I now know why.

Couples Retreat
It looks good as we see the wonderful dynamic duo from Swingers reunited but that was the last & only time these two starred in a good comedy. Vince Vaungh offers some decent lines but nothing was laugh out loud funny. None of the couples are likeable or relatable enough that the audience connects with them or wants them to stay together. The script is original & cute but trys to be more of a drama than comedy and neither worked.

Law Abiding Citizen
Fox & Butler are amazing!! The script is crazy original cool & well written. The action sequences are good & it carries along at just the right pace to keep an audience member interested. The ending could use some work but all in all I can't complain. This is hands down one of the best action & thriller movies I have seen this year.

Men who Stare at Goats
The best parts of this movie are in the trailers. It doesn't get any better watching the movie. It gets weird and worse with no really satisfying ending. Watch the trailer & skip the movie!!!
