Giving to Haiti
Most people wouldn't imagine visiting an art gallary on a Sunday night. I sure could not believe I was there. Dimly lit & packed with hip and swankly dressed urbanites and artists. I barely had enough room to walk around without someone bumping my arm & spilling my wine. Normally I go postal in such a crowded place but I didn't mind tonight. Tonight is a fund raiser for Haiti.
So aside from donnating to a relief organization & doing the sending the text for haiti to have a donnation charged to my cell phone bill I wanted to do something else. I wanted to find another way to be involved. When friends of mine invited me to a fund raiser...I couldn't say no.
I am glad I attended the fundraiser for Haiti. A few friends of mine put it together over one week. They found a venue, bands, artists, speakers who had experience reporting on earth quakes and relief organizations to donnate proceeds. Over 120 people showed! It was great!! A bunch of young hipsters in an art gallary drinking wine, checking out art & listening to music. I love that scene but I really love knowing that a percentage of the proceeds from everything sold went to charity that night.
If you live in Colorado and want to be involved with a great humanitarian organization check out Project C.U.R.E. online at - http://www.projectcure.org/. I plan on voluntering there and wanted to spread the word to all you good people.
Go do something good!!
