Another summer almost gone

Not many people have asked me how my summer has been but I have been thinking about how I have spent my time this Summer. I had a trip out to Sacramento for a wedding which was fun but have not hung out with many friends or caught up with many people. I started delivering pizzas as a part time job and worked 60 hours a week to make some extra money which as helpful but most of the work week was tiring and stressful. I haven't been as active as I would like, no bike riding or running while my ankle is still healing. All in all this has been a quiet and fairly uneventful summer.

Every now and then while delivering pizzas and I'm driving by a park and watching people BBQing or playing sports I ask myself if I am happy with how I spent my Summer? If I wasn't delivering pizza what would I be doing? I think about what I could be doing or what I want to be doing. It gets hard to decide and I wish I was a child again. Then the decision would be simple...just run and play all summer long.

I hope everyone is doing something they enjoy this summer or at least reminicing of the wonders of youth!!!

Why I deliver Pizza

I love many facets of my pizza delivery job, from the tips, meeting people, providing excellent customer service, and the challange of finding a house. One of the things I enjoy are my co-workers who have a blend of quirky and interesting personalities.

Earlier this week I worked with a co-worker who is a very intelligent young high school student. He is creative and has a few interesting life experiences. Here are a few of the most choice comments he made while we worked one evening.

"What type of punishment would society give me for blowing up a planet?"

"I want to be known for destroying a planet or creating a dry ice bomb that blows up an entire city block."

"I have day dreams of attacking cuba in a pirate ship. I am always wearing a big pirate hat and have cannons on the ship."

"You know what works great on that annoying swarm of hundreds of miller moths around a porch light? A tennis racket. I found this out last night!"

"I own shorts that are wide enough in the pant leg I can fit them around my shoulders."
