Lessons I have learned in the last month

-If I peel a pomegranate with my shirt off then I will have bright red freckles all over my chest
-Tow truck drivers will offer to jump your car before towing it
-If a bottle of Kahlua & Crème de Menthe are dropped on pavement then a green stain will remain on the payment for a few days
-When going to view a pay per view event go to a bar as it is cheaper and I enjoy it more than watching it with friends at someone’s house
-If jello shots are made in ice cube trays they will be smaller & will not come out easy without cooking spray applied to the ice cube tray
-When going to see a movie, go to an early showing or the late showing so I can avoid crowds & talkative people
-Many people I speak with enjoy sitting in their pajamas on their couch watching TV after a long day at work

Christmas Holiday

I had an enjoyable Christmas Holiday! I drive to Echo Lake which is south of Idaho Springs to snow ski on Christmas Eve.

Christmas Day I went for a walk at a park in Lakewood before heading over to friends of mine, the Saegers, to spend Christmas with their family. I use to rent from the Saegers and have been adopted into their family. Holidays at their home are spent playing games, conversing or watching a movie or sporting event.

Later Christmas eve I left the Saegers and went to a local theatre to watch 47 Ronin which was entertaining if you want an action movie! The special effects were worth seeing & there were a few interesting characters, landscapes & costumes. While no new ground or life shattering ideas are conveyed I would say it is entertaining & worth renting.

I hope every one reading this blog has a safe & happy Holiday season!

Christmas Musical

Growing up I use to attend musical performances around Christmas time. Anything from church choirs to chorus shows or a musical traveling through town who plays at local school or performing arts center. I have gotten out of the habit of taking in music during this holiday season.

This year I attended a show put on by a friend Dave Villano. Dave plays the violin, guitar, and the banjo and is super talented. I have a few of his CDs and have seen him perform at weddings before. This year he had two shows, one in Colorado Springs & another in Lone Tree about a week apart. I attended the Lone Tree show and it was amazing! I am so glad I went as Dave puts on an amazing show but it was refreshing to hear live Christmas music this time of year.

I really enjoyed the Christmas music enough to consider attending a few more shows as well as Dave's concert next year. I am not sure if live Christmas music will become one of my Christmas traditions (I am happy with the two traditions I have...looking at Christmas lights at night & drinking Peppermint mocha Kahlua). Maybe there is room for one more tradition and it will be live holiday music.

Where has Duane-o been?

I know that is what everyone has been thinking? Not really because most people who read this blog may not know my name or much about me but they were probably thinking some like "This guy posts on his blog, every few days. I can go back to his blog every few days and read about his goofy life and laugh. Well he has not posted about his life in over a month or so. Has he gotten a life? Is he still doing goofy stuff and writing about it? Where is he?"

Those are great questions so let me answer them.

Do I have a life?
Yes and no. I am in a slow period due to all sorts of life changes, moving, adjusting to a new schedule and trying to work in some personal changes as well like more writing & time for reflection & reading which means I do not spend as much time blogging.

Is the guy who writes this blog still doing goofy stuff?
Of course. I have plenty of goofy stories to share which means I have material for a few blog posts. You may laugh, you may cry, or may start reading different blogs. (Self deprecating humor is the best!)

Where has the guy who posts to this blog been?
I have been going to work, going home, napping, watching movies, hanging out at wine bars, and asking myself the usual questions I ask myself...Should I get a part time job? Should I approach that girl & talk with her or pretend I did not notice her? Should I pursue writing a couple stories in my head? Should I start taking graduate courses? When should I move back to Lakewood?

So web friends I apologize for not updating my blog frequently & hope to post more frequently.
