House sitting in the hidden part of Denver

So I have watched plenty of movies lately and would love to blog about them but those will have to wait as I have to blog about house sitting.

I am sitting for one of my regulars who have moved to a new neighbor hood (Yes I said regulars. Many co-workers & friends contact me for house sitting. I enjoy seeing a new part of town, making a little extra money & helping people out). They recently moved from the Cheeseman park area to Monaco & 38th which is a completely different area of Denver!! The Cheeseman area is somewhat affluent with huge park for runners & out door activities. Sprinkled in the area are small restaurants, coffee shops, and eateries each with a unique cultural flavor. It is also close to down town so the Cheeseman park area has a strong urban feel. It is has a stigma for being the part of town where Gay men meet for anonymous sexual encounters.

The Monaco & 38th area is south of I-70 and on the edge of where factories start and make there way North through Denver. Most of the homes are made of brick and one story modular type dwellings or small homes. Not a lot of roads come through this area as there aren't any shops, stores, or restaurants near by. I'm guessing many of the people who live here work in the near by factories.

What is interesting is this is a lost or hidden part of Denver. Many of the factories in the area have been around for decades and this area has silently been around for decades. This area doesn't have malls put in or shops put in to jazz it up. This is not a high traffic area or a part of town considered to be valuable re-estate. Every time I have driven by this area of town I have thought to myself I see houses, roads, and buildings so someone lives there but no one I know. I am guessing most people could say the same about this neighbor hood. I wish I had more time to get out and explore but I will be laying low to rest as I'm tired. Considering there was a snow storm last night now isn't the ideal time to explore but I wish I could.
