My patience pays off

not with women,
not with my career,
not with waiting behind Sunday drivers,

but with my hair stylist!!!!

I love my hair stylist Teresa. She is wonderful and it is hard to find a good hair stylist. I have been going to see her after work at 6:30. The shop closes at 7 so she doesn't have much time to chop my locks & kick me out the door before it's time to head home.

I was getting my hair cut by one of her co-worker Megan but Megan left to work else where (okay the whole story is Megan was cute and single and there was potential but she liked guys with money who golfed and I'm poor and only mini golf so it didn't work out). Since I have returned to Teresa to have my hair cut she has been running late. Not just once but every month I go in she is working with another client! I show up and Teresa is dying some woman's hair or doing something with curlers (I don't know what hair stylist do with curlers...they have always frightened me) and she can't see me for fifteen to twenty minutes. So after memorizing most of the product up front, browsing through all the fashion magaizines, and chatting with her co-workers I nap and right when I'm ready to fall asleep Teresa wakes me because she is free and ready for me.

Well this last time I was prepared with food so I could snack and then get some sleep after entering the store because Teresa is always running late and won't see me for twenty minutes. Routine visit, after my nap she is ready to cut my hair, after the hair cut we schedule the next appointment, after the scheduling I am ready to pay and Teresa told me it was free. She felt so awful for making me wait and I always wait pleasantly with out complaining. She wanted to give me a free cut and I was amazed.

I love Teresa, she is funny and loud and knows a lot about people and psychology (why is it bartenders and barbers know so much about human nature???). I have always had a great experience talking with her let alone getting the hair cut so I am hooked with the quality product & interaction but above and beyond treatment like a free haircut just for waiting for her…WOW.

I guess I will show up at her kids’ weddings and rave about how cool their mom is and all the great hair cuts she gives me…NOT!!! Currently she has no children and by the time she has children ready to marry I will be over 60 and bald.
