Marriage or couple

I have been thinking about being with someone and not spending the rest of my life alone the last few weeks and it is an odd thought because it has no heart or soul.

I was watching the season finale of Smallville where Clark & Lois are struggling with the idea of getting married and it hit me that is what I have missed in my life. Being with someone is more than just about companionship or not being alone. It is about sharing your life and laying part of it down to help another. It is about doing things together and being caught up in how another person brings out the absolute best in you. I have lost that perspective of relationships/marriage and the more I spend time looking at happy couples I can see ones with that perspective. I know couples with this perspective have marriages that are about more than coming home to someone, their marriages are about living a great story with someone exciting. That is what makes marriage great & happy, and fulfilling.

To all my married friends out there who have wonderful marriages & happy lives I want to thank you. I needed to see your marriage as I lost focus about what a happy marriage is all about!
